Facebook iLike
v 1.1
Facebook iLike is a powerful tool that allows you to utilize the new “Facebook Like” functionality within your WordPress install. We’ve taken a simple feature and added flexible components so that for every page / post you create, you can customize the settings for the “Like” button.
How To Embed The Code
To embed the “Like” button in a post or a page, paste this code into your post/page at the desired location:
If you prefer to embed the “Like” button in your theme’s templates rather than within specific posts, use this PHP code in your template:
1
| <? facebook_ilike(); ?> |
All options set globally can be overridden on any post / page edit for specific page settings.
Global Options
Globally set any / all of these values.
- Site Name: Name of your web site
- Facebook Admins: Once users have liked your page, you can publish stream updates to those users and get statistics about your pages, just like you can with Facebook Pages. To administer your page you need to associate it with your Facebook account. To do so, add a comma-separated list of the user IDs or usernames of the Facebook accounts who own the pages here.
Each listed user must click Like on the URL to be approved as an admin. This is to prevent users being made admins without their consent. Also, the first user listed in this tag cannot be removed, or moved later in the list of user IDs.
Once you have associated the page with your Facebook account, the page will show up in Pages You Admin on Facebook. From that interface, you can publish stream updates and get detailed analytics about the users who have liked your page.
- Facebook App ID: Some sites may have hundreds or even thousands of pages with meta data. To handle a site with lots of pages, you can link your pages to your Facebook Platform application, which will enable you to publish stream updates to your pages programmatically. To connect your Page to your Facebook application ID, include your application’s ID here.
Layout Options
Customize the look and feel of the plugin.
- Layout Style: Choose between ‘Standard’ or ‘Button Count’ – Standard shows you “John Smith and 5,830 others like this” while Button Count shows you just the count of people who like / recommend the page.
- Show Faces: Display thumbs of friends who like the page / post under the like button. Only works if you use the ‘Standard’ button.
- Width: Set the max width of the FB Like widget.
- Height: Set the max height of the FB Like widget.
- Verb To Display: Choose between a ‘Like’ button or a ‘Recommend’ button.
- Font: Choose a font from the predefined list.
- Color Scheme: Set to light if you have a light colored web site. Set to dark if you have a dark colored web site.
Basic Information Options (Optional)
Override of page title, page description and page sent to Facebook when page / post is “liked.”
* Note: by default, the_title(); is used as the title passed to Facebook when someone clicks “Like” on a post. If you wish to change this at a global level, be aware that what you enter will be used on all pages of your site when a user clicks “Like” rather than the dynamic the_title() variable.
- Page Name: By default, uses your post / page title.
- Page Description: By default, uses the description of your blog entered in the Settings > General screen.
- Page Type: Specify the type of content you publish.
Location Options (Optional)
Specify the location of the published content.
- Latitude:
- Longitude:
- Street Address:
- City / Locality:
- State / Region:
- Postal Code:
- Country Name: two characters max (ie: US, UK, CA)
Contact Options (Optional)
Specify ways to contact the author of the published content.
- Email Address:
- Phone Number:
- Fax Number:
Installation:
- Upload Facebook iLike to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
- Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
- Activate the plugin from the WordPress admin panel
- Configure the options under the admin panel: Settings – Facebook iLike
Change Log:
v1.1
- Fixed RSS ‘array’ bug introduced with WP 3.0
v1.0.1
- Fixing an issue with the_loop(); where the permalink was set incorrectly. This caused all posts on a category list to appear as “liked” due to the browser url, not each posts permalink.
- Compatable with WordPress 3.0.

Hi there
I love your plugin and what it does but I have had problems with my RSS feed once I installed and activated it. It keeps coming up with this warning message:
Warning: call_user_func_array() [function.call-user-func-array]: First argument is expected to be a valid callback, ‘Array’ was given in /home/internop/public_html/wp-includes/plugin.php on line 166
I have deactivated the plugin and it still causes this error. It seems to be on the posts I have added the iLike code to. You can see on my facebook network blog tab at the top. The first 7 posts have the iLike code inserted in the HTML of the post, the rest don’t. The problem only exists with the first 7 posts:

Would love your advice on how to fix this as I don’t want to have to take this plugin out and the code off each page!
Thanks
Jon
